When it comes to online casino, there are contrasting thoughts that come directly from America, because it’s always complicated to get everyone to agree. Let’s talk about what happened between New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Atlantic City’s 11-year Mayor Lorenzo Langford: Christie has been pushing madly for online gaming for the Garden State, meanwhile Langford said that the plans for his bailiwick have not produced dazzling results so far. According to Langford’s word, the world of gaming lost a 6.9 percent in 2011 and another 8 percent in 2012. This result is quiet weird if we think that casinos are known for making money without trying that hard; so let’s try to make the all story clear and simple.
Let’s start saying that Langford was a dealer and pitboss in the casinos and all he wants to see the city’s casino industry recovered: Langford has always been very critical of Christie’s reform package that was put through by New Jersey legislators in 2011 and put authority over the city’s 12 casinos under the state through a “tourism district”. In one of his latest interview, Langford said that the first two years of Christie’s program haven’t shown any important improvements.
“We’re trying to be like Las Vegas and rely more on the nongaming business. We just started too late”.
And we cannot forget that Langford doesn’t agree with the idea of this “tourism district” that segregates the poorer areas from the wealthier ones of Atlantic City. But hey, this is not so weird if we think about what happens in Beverly Hills, Central Park South, and the Côte d’Azur: there are poor areas also in this places, right? Well, maybe Langford doesn’t see the all thing that way!
He’s pretty sure of his thoughts and he definitely doesn’t appreciate the making of “zoning” the city.
Well maybe we should remember that Langford is a Democrat and Christie a Republican and they already have locked horns over other issues, such as the handling of citizen evacuations and shelters during Hurricane Sandy. What are we trying to say? That probably they’ll always have hard time trying to find a way to cooperate.
