With this ranking, you’ll find out that four well-known gaming moguls have conquered the top 5! Who’s the first one?
This list is based on the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) formula that helps to calculate salaries and net worth: after this simple explanation we can say that Steve Wynn stands at #1 with his 17.7 million dollars! But if we try to follow a different calculation, adding the stock options, we can say that the chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, mister Sheldon Adelson is the first one with 41.3 million dollars (30.6 million in stock options and 10.7 million dollars in actual pay).
Gary Loveman, Caesars Entertainment’s CEO, won’t be so happy: he “only” took home 12,800,000 dollars! And you better know that actual salary generally accounts for about a fourth (or less) of the executive’s total pay package: besides the all stock options and securities story there are surely plenty of private jet travel, some incredible meals in magnificent restaurant, suites and cool hotels. All over the world, obviously!
The fourth one on this ranking, with 10 million dollars, is a non-gaming executive: Rajesh Shrotriya who is CEO of Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, a company that makes cancer treatment drugs. This man was in the top spot last year but he had to face a 60% pay cut brought on by lower stock and option bonuses. And now, last and least is James Mürren, MGM Resorts International’s leader: last year he took home about 9,641,000 dollars, but this year he put his hand on almost 10 million dollars: it still be too good to be real!
